Tuition

I studied at Trinity College of Music in London with Keith Cummings , formally of the Halle Orchestra and gained my Honours Degree in Music as well as a Licentiate Teaching Diploma. I gained a Post Graduate Certificate of Education and have taught in secondary schools throughout my career.

I was Head of Music at Looe Community Academy for the Performing Arts from 2000-2015, and now work in a freelance capacity.

I have also continued to teach privately, and have held many workshops and been involved with musical projects, both locally and with other organisations, such as The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and BBC Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.

I have students who work towards grade exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Shools of Music, or those who just wish to improve their performing skills without formal exams - the choice is entirely up to the individual.

We have a community band and choir which people of all ages can join and we regularly play in and around the community. This gives instrumentalists and singers the chance to perform a wide range of pieces, which in turn improves their ensemble skills.

Violin/Viola

I studied the violin from the age of 7, and loved it from the first moment I held it, as this picture of my first concert illustrates! I also studied viola from the age of 16, and gained Grade 8 ABRSM exams in both violin and viola during my teens.

I have played in many Orchestras and Chamber ensembles and continue to play in chamber and symphony orchestras on a freelance basis.

Saxophone

I have played Soprano Saxophone for around 10 years, following my own philosophy that it's never too late to learn!

I gained my grade 8 ABRSM with distinction and went on to  perform jazz and classical saxophone in concerts in and around the South West. I have played soprano saxophone in the band McCue since 2012.

       Voice

I have sung for as long as I can remember !

I gained Grade 8 ABRSM Soprano Voice with Distinction ,singing in 4 languages in the classical genre.

I have sung in many choirs and ensembles in a variety of styles, and currently sing solo soprano on a freelance basis for local choirs in Devon and Cornwall, including singing solo with the Kelly Choral Society in Tavistock, and at the Calstock Jazz Festival . I have been soprano soloist at the biannual Messiah Concert at Bocconoc since 2010. I currently teach jazz, pop, musical theatre and classical voice.

I

Piano

I have taught piano for over 25 years, having studied with Joyce Hedges at Trinity  college of Music and then playing in many concerts as an accompanist and performer within various ensembles.

I teach piano and electronic keyboard in various styles including classical, and chord -style playing.
